Kibbutz Ulpan

Kibbutz Ulpan is a 5 month work-study program for young adults between the ages of 18 and 28. On the program you will learn conversational Hebrew, work on the kibbutz, and take part in rich and unique kibbutz culture. It is one of the most affordable long-term programs in Israel. Complete room and board, as well as health insurance and all programming, is included in the program cost of $4,850. Masa scholarships of between $1,000 and $3,000 are available. Ulpans begin at different kibbutzim at staggered times throughout the year. All of the Ulpan programs offer the first 2 levels of Hebrew. Yagur and Ramat Yochanan offer a 3rd level as well and Maagan Michael offers 4 levels.

New! Religious Ulpan (Ulpan Kibbutz Dati)

Religious Ulpan is a similar program to Ulpan programs on secular kibbutzim, however there is religious component to the curriculum and students are expected to follow the traditions of a Modern Orthodox community while on kibbutz (observing Shabbat and festivals, dress code-kippa or cap for men, no shorts or sleeveless shirts for women). Sde Eliyahu also offers additional religious and Jewish studies classes for interested students.
