Work Study
Kibbutz Ulpan
Kibbutz Ulpan is a 5 month work-study program for young adults between the ages of 18 and 28. On the program you will learn conversational Hebrew, work on the kibbutz, and take part in rich and unique kibbutz culture. It is one of the most affordable long-term programs in Israel. Complete room and board, as well as health insurance and all programming, is included in the current cost of $4,350. Masa scholarships of between $1,000 and $3,000 are available. Ulpans begin at different kibbutzim at staggered times throughout the year. The programs with start dates of June or later will cost $4,850. All of the Ulpan programs offer the first 2 levels of Hebrew. Yagur and Ramat Yochanan offer a 3rd level as well and Maagan Michael offers 4 levels.
Participating in a Kibbutz Ulpan is a time-honored tradition that countless people have experienced over the years. Today a Kibbutz Ulpan is a perfect choice for anyone looking to take a gap-year before college, or for any young adult looking to take time off from employment or college and do something different while learning Hebrew and seeing Israel.
