Ma’ase Olam – ITF is a joint 10-month service-learning program for American and Israeli young adults that begins in September 2012. It is a post-college program for North Americans Jews aged 21-29. The program focuses on the teaching English per the guidelines of the Ministry of Education in Rehovot’s underprivileged schools while also undertaking other service projects for the benefit of the local community.‪‪

Ma’ase Olam – ITF’s approach is innovative and unique, basing the demand for achievement and the realization of each individuals potential capacity. Participants in this program are integrated into Israeli society through many different kinds of experiences over the course of the 10-month stay in Rehovot. Our North American participants are intentionally connected with a group of Israeli peers of the same age. They will live near each other, undergo joint programming, and carry out service work together in order to maximize their Israel experience and exposure of Israel.

Ma’ase Olam – Israel Teaching Fellows is a Masa Israel Journey accredited program. For more information about Masa Israel Journey, please visit www.masaisrael.org.

  • "The other groups all live in different apartment settings.  We are the only group with a house.  We also learned that we are the only group that has Israeli counterparts.  Many other groups are quite jealous of this difference."

  • "What can I say about my time here in Israel? It’s been two months and I already have more stories and news than I can easily explain in one letter. This is my first time living abroad for longer than two weeks and it’s been an incredible and unique experience.”
-Brian Levenson, Ma’ase Olam – Israel Teaching Fellow
  • The people in Rehovot are extraordinarily diverse: they come from the US and Russia, Ethiopia and Yemen, Europe and South America. Every individual has a story that brought them to the country, so they are extremely welcoming to strangers. Whereas you would never think to talk to a random someone on the bus in the US, I’ve been invited to spend the holidays with people I talked to for less than ten minutes. Even beyond just the people, though, there’s so much to do here in Israel.
